  • "Bearing Up Baby" is a play on the 1938 movie title, "Bringing Up Baby" - starring Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant.
  • Humphrey the Bear first appeared in the 1950 Disney short, "Hold that Pose." His most memorable appearance was in his own starring short, 1956's "In the Bag" (first you take a rag, put it in the bag, bump, bump!)
  • A few of Humphrey's cartoons can be found on the 2005 Walt Disney Treasures DVD release "Disney Rarities: Celebrated Shorts, 1920s - 1960s"
  • In this episode, Humphrey is voiced by his original voice talent, James "Jimmy" MacDonald. Jimmy also provided the voice of Chip and Dale in the 1952 short, "Two Chips and a Miss"
