RRR1 Wherein Gadget wears shoes
|

Chlorine Trifluoride is a real chemical, and it does react explosively with water. Experiments were done with using it as an oxidizer in real-life rockets. The joke is, in fact, based on a quote from John D. Clark, who famously remarked that the best way to deal with a metal-fluorine fire was "a good pair of running shoes."
